LED strips for bathrooms

LED strips for bathrooms

A soft line of light around the mirror, in the shower niche or under a floating vanity gives the bathroom the calm of a hotel spa. Our bathroom strips are waterproof with IP65 and run on safe low voltage, 12V or 24V. Dimmable, in warm white to relax or in neutral white at the mirror.

Where an LED strip looks great in the bathroom

  • Around or behind the mirror: even light on your face, without harsh shadows.
  • In the shower niche: a line of light along the shelf or niche turns the shower into a feature.
  • Under the vanity: a floating effect and a pleasant night light.
  • Along the ceiling: indirect light for a calm, spacious bathroom.

Safe in the bathroom

  • Choose IP65: dust-tight and protected against water jets. See the waterproof LED strips.
  • Choose low voltage: 12V or 24V. A 230V strip does not belong in the bathroom.
  • Power supply outside the wet zone: place the power supply in a cabinet, in the loft or outside the bathroom, or choose a waterproof IP67 power supply. See the LED strip power supplies.
  • Not under water: IP65 is not IP68. A strip in the bath or shower tray itself, where water collects, is not suitable.
  • Have the connection checked by an electrician and seal every cut end with an end cap.

Which strip and color temperature?

  • COB 24V IP65: one even line without dots, CRI 90+, cuttable every 2 centimeters. Beautiful around a mirror where the strip is visible.
  • SMD 12V or 24V IP65: efficient and versatile for niches and plinth lighting.
  • Color temperature: 3000K warm white for atmosphere, 4000K at the mirror if you want light for make-up or shaving. With CCT you set it yourself.

Dim the strip with a controller and a wireless wall panel outside the bathroom or a remote. See the dimmers and controllers.

Frequently asked questions about bathroom LED strips

Can an LED strip go in the shower?

An IP65 strip at 12V or 24V can go in a shower niche, outside the direct spray of the shower head and not where water collects. The power supply goes outside the wet zone.

Which IP rating do I need in the bathroom?

At least IP65 near the shower and bath. At the mirror, away from splashes, a strip in a closed profile can also work in a well-ventilated bathroom.

Can I use a 230V strip in the bathroom?

No. In the bathroom always use a 12V or 24V strip with a power supply outside the wet zone.

Can an LED strip go around a mirror?

Yes. Mount the strip behind the mirror for a floating effect or all around in a profile. A COB strip gives an even line without dots.
