Which 150 cm LED tube should you choose?
All tubes have the same length and cap; the difference is how much light you get per watt.
- 120 lm/W, 3,000 lumens: the most affordable replacement for a 58W fluorescent tube, for storage and areas with few operating hours.
- 140 lm/W, 3,500 lumens: more light for the same consumption, for workshops and offices.
- 170 lm/W, 4,250 lumens: for warehouses, garages and production areas that need plenty of light.
- 200 lm/W, up to 5,000 lumens: wattage selectable at 18 or 25W, the lowest consumption per lumen. For halls where the lights are on all day. Also available in 5000K daylight.
A more efficient tube costs a little more, but the difference pays for itself on the electricity bill when the lights are on for long hours. Calculate your savings
Which colour temperature?
- 3000K warm white: areas where atmosphere matters.
- 4000K neutral white: offices, schools, shops and corridors. The most popular choice.
- 5000K daylight: workstations where colours need to be seen accurately (in the 200 lm/W series).
- 6000K cool white: workshops, garages and warehouses.

Frequently asked questions about 150 cm LED tubes
Will a 150 cm LED tube fit my old fluorescent fitting?
Yes, if it is a T8 fitting with G13 lampholders (tube diameter 26 mm). If your fitting has a magnetic ballast with a starter, replace the old starter with an LED starter and fit the LED tube. If it has an electronic (HF) ballast, the ballast must be removed or bypassed and the tube wired directly to 230V. LED tube installation guide
What wattage does a 150 cm LED tube replace?
A 25W LED tube replaces a 58W fluorescent tube. Because a fluorescent fitting with ballast also consumes power itself, the real saving is 50 to 60 percent. With the 200 lm/W tube set to 18W you save even more.
How many 150 cm LED tubes do I need?
Rule of thumb: one tube of 4,000 to 5,000 lumens lights 8 to 10 m² at a ceiling height of 3 to 4 metres. For a 100 m² warehouse you need roughly 10 to 12 tubes, for example in twin fittings. If the fittings hang higher than 6 metres, LED high bays are the better choice.
How do I connect an LED tube?
Our tubes are single-end powered: live and neutral connect at one end of the tube, the other end is not connected. They work on 100 to 240V. In an LED tube fitting this is already wired correctly: insert the tube, connect the fitting and you are done.
What is the difference between T8 and T5?
T8 has a 26 mm diameter and a G13 cap; T5 is 16 mm thick with a G5 cap and different lengths. A T8 tube does not fit a T5 fitting. The T5 equivalent of a 150 cm tube is 1448 mm long: see T5 LED tubes 1448 mm or all T5 LED tubes.
How long does an LED tube last?
They are designed for 50,000 operating hours, which is more than 13 years at 10 hours a day. All tubes come with a 5-year warranty.
Do you supply for projects?
Yes. Volume pricing applies to larger quantities and business customers can buy on invoice. Request a quote and we will be happy to work out the numbers with you.
