LED TL Tubes

LED Tubes

An LED tube replaces the classic fluorescent tube at the same length and with the same cap, using half the energy. Choose from T8 tubes (G13) in 60, 90, 120 and 150 cm and T5 tubes (G5) in 548, 1148 and 1448 mm, with efficiencies from 120 to 200 lm/W. They light up instantly, do not flicker and last 50,000 hours. For mood lighting there are smart RGB tubes with WiFi.

Which LED tube do you need?

First measure the diameter of your current tube: 26 mm is T8, 16 mm is T5. Then the length decides. The LED tube is always the same length as the fluorescent tube it replaces.

All T8 tubes can be found under T8 LED tubes.

Replacing fluorescent tubes with LED: how it works

Our LED tubes are single-end powered and run directly on 230V. What you need to do depends on your fitting:

  • Fitting with a starter and magnetic ballast: replace the starter with an LED starter and fit the LED tube. No rewiring needed.
  • Fitting with an electronic (HF) ballast: no starter visible. The ballast must be removed or bypassed, with live and neutral wired to one end of the tube.
  • New fitting: an LED tube fitting comes pre-wired and often costs less than converting an old one. For garages, cellars and outdoors choose a waterproof fitting; for T5 there are T5 fittings.

Which efficiency should you choose?

Efficiency (lumens per watt) determines how much light you get for your electricity. 120 lm/W is the most affordable replacement for areas with short operating hours. 140 and 170 lm/W give more light for offices, workshops and warehouses. With 200 lm/W you use the least energy and recover the extra cost fastest when the lights are on all day. Calculate your savings

Frequently asked questions about LED tubes

How much do I save with an LED tube?

An LED tube uses half the energy of a fluorescent tube for the same light. Because the old ballast also consumes power, the real saving per fitting is 50 to 60 percent. In a workshop with 20 tubes on for 10 hours a day, that quickly adds up to several hundred euros a year.

Do I need a starter?

Only in a fitting with a magnetic ballast and starter: there you replace the old starter with an LED starter. Without a starter, or after removing the ballast, the tube connects directly to 230V.

Does an LED tube work with an electronic ballast?

Our tubes are designed for direct connection to 230V. With an electronic (HF) ballast, remove it and connect live and neutral to one end of the tube. It is a one-off job, and afterwards there is no ballast left that can fail.

What is the difference between T8 and T5?

T8 has a 26 mm diameter and a G13 cap; T5 is 16 mm thick with a G5 cap. They do not fit each other's fittings. T8 is the standard in offices, garages and workshops; T5 is often found in more modern or compact fittings.

Which colour temperature should I choose?

4000K (neutral white) for offices, schools and shops, 6000K (cool white) for workshops, garages and warehouses, and 3000K (warm white) where atmosphere matters. More about colour temperature

How long does an LED tube last?

They are designed for 50,000 operating hours, more than 13 years at 10 hours a day. All tubes come with a 5-year warranty.

Do you supply for projects?

Yes. Volume pricing applies to larger quantities and business customers can buy on invoice. Request a quote and we will be happy to work out the numbers with you.
