What is an LED tube?

We all know conventional fluorescent tubes, which are now outdated because they are fluorescent lamps containing a toxic and non-environmentally friendly gas that produces the light. In addition, the standard flickering 4 to 5 times before the lamp finally lights up after a few seconds is also a thing of the past. A durable and energy-saving alternative to fluorescent tubes is LED tubes. These LED tubes fit into the fixture of traditional fluorescent tubes and can therefore be easily replaced. But you can also order an LED tube fixture from us, ensuring a simple and quick installation.

Replacing / installing LED tubes

Installing or replacing conventional fluorescent tubes with LED tubes in an existing/conventional fixture often requires adjustments to make the LED tube work properly. LED tubes only need electricity from one side.

Fixture with one or more fluorescent tubes

  1. Always switch off the power first
  2. Remove the old fluorescent tube(s) from the fixture
  3. Remove the starter (if present)
  4. Remove the ballast
  5. Connect the LIVE wire and the NEUTRAL wire on one side of the fixture in the socket/holder
  6. Insert and twist the LED tube into the fixture – with L N Input on the socket at the power side
  7. Switch the power back on

Fixture with one fluorescent tube with starter

This can be replaced one-to-one with the LED starter. You can also follow the above step-by-step plan. Both procedures are possible.

  1. Switch off the power
  2. Remove the old fluorescent tube from the fixture
  3. Replace the old starter with the supplied LED starter
  4. Insert and twist the LED tube into the fixture
  5. Switch the power back on

Advantages of LED tube lighting

Fluorescent tubes are used in many different places. Think of garages, offices, and schools, but also kitchens and bathrooms. By replacing this conventional fluorescent lighting with LED tube lighting, a lot of energy (and money) can be saved.

When you replace your conventional fluorescent lighting with LED tubes, you save up to 50% on electricity consumption. This does not affect the light output. LED tubes are very energy-efficient. They also have a very long lifespan of 50,000 burning hours and very low maintenance costs.

Replacing fluorescent lighting with LED tubes is an investment, but due to all the advantages, it is often recouped within six months. LED tubes are therefore an optimal and durable replacement for conventional fluorescent lighting.

Different types of LED tube lighting

Our T8 LED tubes are available in various types and sizes:

All T8 LED tubes have a milky white and matte finish and an aluminum back. Unlike conventional fluorescent tubes, the light is only emitted directly downward with a beam angle of 120°. This ensures that the LED tube makes more efficient use of the light output.

Our LED tube lighting is available in different light colors, namely:

  • Warm white (3000K)
  • Neutral white (4000K)
  • Cool white (6000K)
