DALI Lighting

DALI Lighting

DALI lighting lets you control each luminaire or group individually, link it to sensors and integrate it into the building management system. Here you will find LED panels, high bays and waterproof fittings with a DALI driver, plus separate Philips DALI drivers. For offices, schools, healthcare, industrial buildings and larger projects where you want to control and monitor the lighting.

Where DALI lighting makes the difference

  • Offices and schools: dimming per room or workstation, linked to presence and daylight sensors.
  • Industrial units and warehouses: switch and dim high bays by zone.
  • Healthcare and commercial buildings: integrate the lighting into the building management system.
  • Projects and refurbishment: one open standard for different types of luminaire.

What is DALI?

DALI stands for Digital Addressable Lighting Interface: an open, digital standard for lighting control. Each DALI driver gets its own address, so you can control luminaires individually or in groups and also read their status. DALI-2 is the newer version of the standard. Compared with 0-10V, DALI controls each luminaire individually instead of everything on one control line.

DALI lighting by application

  • DALI LED panels: select the Dimmable DALI (Philips) driver on the panel. In 60x60, 62x62, 30x120, 30x150, 30x30, 30x60 and hollow. See our LED panels and our UGR19 LED panels for workstations.
  • DALI high bays: UFO high bays from 100 to 240 W with 150 lm/W, with a choice of 0-10V or DALI. See our LED high bays.
  • Tri-proof fittings with DALI-2: IP65, 1200 mm (36 W) and 1500 mm (50 W), 155 lm/W, for warehouses, car parks and workshops. See our IP65 LED batten fittings.
  • DALI drivers: the Philips Xitanium 44 W DALI driver, flicker-free, with adjustable output current from 700 to 1050 mA. See our LED panel drivers.

What do you need?

  • Luminaires with a DALI driver.
  • A DALI bus: two additional control cores alongside the 230V supply.
  • A DALI power supply and control: a DALI controller, gateway or building management system, optionally with sensors and push buttons.

A DALI installation is designed, installed and programmed by a qualified electrician. Not sure about the right combination? Ask us for advice.

DALI lighting: frequently asked questions

What is DALI lighting?

Lighting with a digital DALI driver, so you can dim, switch and read out each luminaire or group individually via a control system or building management system.

What is the difference between DALI and 0-10V?

With 0-10V you dim all luminaires on one control line at the same time. With DALI each luminaire gets an address and you control them individually or in groups.

Does a DALI luminaire work without a DALI controller?

Yes, on 230V the luminaire switches on at full output. Dimming and grouping do require a DALI control system.

What is DALI-2?

The newer version of the DALI standard, with stricter requirements for interoperability between manufacturers. Our tri-proof fittings have a DALI-2 driver.

Do you supply larger projects?

Yes. Business customers can pay on invoice, and volume pricing applies to larger quantities. For projects, we are happy to prepare a tailored quote.
